Simple Prayers & Bible Stories aims to remind and encourage people to read the Bible and pray every day.
Notes from the author Anna Hatyward: ” I originally wrote a series of stories and prayers to help my mother-in-law, who suffered from Vascular Dementia. She kept forgetting what she had read, and as she read her Bible daily, it used to upset her. This booklet really helped her because the pages were easy to read, and she appreciated the prayers when she could no longer concentrate sufficiently to finish a prayer herself. When she went into a nursing home, she still read it several times a day because she‘d forgotten she’d read it! I gave out copies to friends who had relatives with dementia, and it proved a blessing to them, too.
I wrote this book with a desire to encourage people to read their Bibles and to pray, and to feel that they are not alone because God has promised to love and provide for us all out days, and to give us a place with Jesus in heaven as we continue to trust in Him. It is my earnest desire to help and encourage them in their faith every day, and for this reason I have published this book.
I have been a member of Mothers’ Union for over 35 years and have been on the Prayer and Spirituality Committee in Leicester for a 3-year period, and was a Speaker for many years, travelling by Mo-ped, when I was Anne Fretter. In 2012 I married Clive Hayward. ”
